The William H. Telfer Graduate Travel Award is made possible by a donation from the trust in honor of the late Dr. William Telfer, a distinguished professor in this department. The purpose of this competitive fellowship is to facilitate the travel of graduate students to national and international conferences for the purpose of presenting their research. It is open to any student presenting at a conference but priority is given to students on dissertation status, usually in their fourth or fifth year of study.
In 2022, applications will be accepted in the spring semester.
To apply for the 2022 award, please submit the following to the Academics Manager (email@example.com):
- nomination form (also available on request at firstname.lastname@example.org)
- statement on how the funds will be used and why this conference is important to your research program (1 - 2 pages)
- current CV
- recommendation from your thesis advisor
Deadline for submission is May 2, 2022. Decisions will be made shortly after the review of the applications.
Students MUST present a poster or a talk at the conference.
Funds will be available for conferences attended in the 2021-2022 academic year.
